Spiritual Health in Soul Growth and Everyday Living
Spiritual health consists of feeling a sense of meaning and purpose, and developing a relationship to something beyond the mere physical. It is often enhanced by transcendental experiences. Traditionally cloaked in religious terms, spiritual health has universal impact beyond any single belief system. When objective scientific language is used to describe the benefits of spiritual health, we open a window to better understand how “spirit over matter” is a more fitting expression than “mind over matter.”
The placebo effect, unexplained remission of disease, and miraculous healings seen in some cases of near-death experience are just some of the transformative evidence that can be attributed to dynamic encounters with the spiritual realms. Spiritual health is fully related to the survival of consciousness beyond physical death—our spiritual existence is eternal and emerging science of consciousness supports this vital concept. When we accept that reality, the concept of spiritual health is key to living our best lives and attaining ideal mental, emotional, and physical health.
In this workshop, we will examine some of these outcomes and discuss personal practices and activities that can improve spiritual health. Together, we will engage in the experiential processes of sound meditation to facilitate brainwave entrainment and discuss how to be proactive in our individual lives to achieve better overall well-being for self and the world at large.
