NDE Symposium – AZ Zeno Hospital – Knokke-Heist, Belgium
[Nederlandse beschrijving – zie hieronder]
All Saints Day is a time when many remember their deceased loved ones and consider the mystery of life and death. As physicians and healthcare providers, we are highly skilled scientifically and technically. Yet, we often come into contact with patient stories and experiences that we find difficult to explain scientifically, but which are important to our patients and can play a role in their healing process.
In this symposium, Eben Alexander, MD, and Charlotte Martial, PhD, will present personal experience and scientific data that support our current understanding about near-death experiences (NDEs). After a presentation from each expert, a discussion will ensue, including responses to questions from those in attendance.
Eben Alexander, MD, was an academic neurosurgeon for over 25 years, including 15 years at the Brigham & Women’s Hospital, Children’s Hospital, and Harvard Medical School in Boston. He has a passionate interest in physics and cosmology. He is the author of the New York Times #1 bestseller Proof of Heaven, The Map of Heaven and Living in a Mindful Universe. www.ebenalexander.com
Charlotte Martial, PhD, is a colleague of Prof. Dr. Steven Laureys and is a neuropsychologist with the Coma Science Group CHU Liège. In his new book, Our Brain, Prof. Laureys raises controversial issues around NDEs and coma and considers organ donation as ‘the only scientifically proven form of life after death’. http://www.coma.ulg.ac.be/

Symposium ‘bijna dood ervaring’
